Belt Test and Belt Ceremony
The main purpose of a belt test is to help students build self-confidence. In preparation for the exam, students become more sure of themselves as they further their knowledge of Tae Kwon Do; the exams assist students to achieve their goals as they strive to master techniques and information in preparation for the test.

The exams provide the instructors with the opportunity to measure a student's progress by allowing the student to demonstrate what he/she has learned. This demonstration in front of their family, friends, and strangers in a testing environment pushes students to do their best and encourages them to overcome fear through focus and concentration. The belt tests also foster friendship through mutual struggle and coaching.
